Arsenal’s summer signing Lucas Perez has all the attributes to be a top player for the Gunners, according to his boss.
“Lucas came into the team on Tuesday and absolutely took his opportunity,” said Arsene Wenger in Arsenal’s matchday programme on Saturday.
“I believe he’s a guy who has all the qualities you want – he is quick, has good stamina, high energy and is a very good finisher.
“He has it all in his locker. In front of goal he is a killer, he has a short back-lift and is a good finisher. You could see that with the third goal in midweek.”
‘He must adapt to the intensity of the fight in the duels in England. If he manages to do that, he will be a great asset to us.’
Perez, 28, completed a £17million move to the Emirates in the summer but has only made nine appearances for the club so far.
The Spaniard’s game-time has been restricted by a combination of injuries and a settled Arsenal side – but Perez showed his worth with a fine hat-trick against Basel in the Champions League.
Perez was an unused substitute at the Emirates on Saturday as Arsenal came from behind to record their 10th league win of the season.
