Arsenal have opened discussions with AZ Alkmaar to sign promising young goalkeeper Jasper Schendelaar, the Daily Express reports.
At 16-years-old, the Netherlands U17 international would be an earmark for the future, and is contracted to the Eredivisie outfit until the summer of 2019.
The report says Arsenal have opened talks with AZ about a deal for Schendelaar ahead of the January market.
Negotiations are already at an advanced stage and the youngster is expected to sign with the Gunners.
Arsenal have been busy hunting for a new youth keeper signing in recent months.
Arsene Wenger already has a wealth of talent in the goalkeeping department with Petr Cech, David Ospina and Emiliano Martinez on his books, so the signing of Schendelaar would very much be one for the future.
