Another Senior Officer Of The Nigerian Army Killed By Boko Haram Militants

Boko Haram: An injured soldier is being dragged to 23 Brigade medical facility in Yola for further treatment.

Militants of the dreaded Boko Haram sect have killed another senior officer of the Nigerian Army in Borno state.

According to Premium Times, the officer, O. Umusu, a Lieutenant Colonel and Commanding Officer, 118 Task Force Battalion in Borno State, was killed on Monday evening.

It was gathered that the senior officer was killed alongside his security details by an Improvised Explosive Device during a surprise attack by the militants of the Islamic death cult.

Sources in the military revealed that the officer and his men were returning from Maiduguri to their location towards Baga.

The sources added that the incident happened between Sari and Gudumbali, with their remains evacuated to 7 Division Medical Services and Hospital.

Umusu is the fourth Lt. Col. the army will be losing in the last two months.
