The Ovation Carol sponsored by Globacom holds on Sunday with Africa’s number one female group, Shiikane; classical artist and soprano, Abiodun Koya; Afro pop star, Niniola and Simi of the “Jamb question” fame on the band stand.

The talented quad will be joining legendary American hip hop group, Cameo, as well as Juju maestro, King Sunny Ade. Other music stars expected to enrich the carol include Nabania crooner, Chinedu Okoli popularly known as Flavour; Mungo Park exponent,  Korede Bello and Katapot creator, Reekado Banks.

The organisers explained that the artistes will perform in tandem with the theme of the carol : “It’s all about hope”. They added that the theme was conceptualised to rekindle hope that all would be well with Nigeria and her people.

The artistes, including Shiikane, who is the 2015 BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts)  Award winner, Niniola Apata fondly called “Nini”, the winner of the Nigerian Teen Choice Award, Simisola Ogunleye aka “Simi” and velvety voiced Abiodun Koya enthused that their performances at the event will be both electrifying and glorious.

In the same vein, KSA who is still basking in the euphoria of his well-celebrated 70th birthday, also confirmed his participation just as he assured attendees a fun-filled evening garnished with razzmatazz, stagecraft and innovative dance steps which belie his age.

Similarly, Flavour and the Mavin duo of Reekado Banks and Korede Bello  equally promised their fans of spectacular performances that would serve as an exciting prelude to the Yuletide season. “Attendees  should expect something new, classy and inspiring from our musical repertoire”, the duo assured.

According to the organisers, the event will be produced by  Charterhouse  while the dress code is a touch of green in accordance with the nomenclature of the event dubbed “Ovation Green Carol”.
