Southampton boss Claude Puel is keen on raiding his former club Nice for highly-rated midfielder Wylan Cyprien, according to the Daily Mirror.
The France U21 international, who moved to Nice from Lens shortly after Puel’s appointment at St. Mary’s, has attracted interest from across Europe for his performances for the Ligue 1 leaders.
Atletico Madrid are also believed to be interested in the 21-year-old, but Puel hopes he can convince Cyprien to follow in his footsteps in moving to Southampton.
Cyprien, 21, has scored six goals so far this season, with five of them helping his club to take a shock lead in the Ligue 1 title race.
They are now four points clear of Monaco in the table, with champions PSG another three points behind.
