Diego Costa is set to be rewarded with a bumper new contract, designed to keep him at Chelsea until the end of his playing days, reports the Daily Mirror.
Costa’s 13 Premier League goals this season have propelled the Blues to the top of the table at Christmas, with the Spaniard back to his unplayable best after a disappointing 2015/16 campaign.
And Mirror claims Chelsea are determined to offer the 28-year-old a new deal – likely a two-year extension – that will extend his stay at Stamford Bridge to 2021.
Diego Costa signed a five-year deal worth £150,000-a-week when he joined from Atletico Madrid for £32m in 2014, but that will now be pushed closer to £200,000-a-week.
Atletico Madrid have tried to re-sign Diego Costa and his future looked uncertain last summer, but he has been transformed this season under new manager Antonio Conte.

Costa has started every Premier League game for Chelsea this season but must sit out the Boxing Day match against Bournemouth through suspension. Michy Batshuayi is expected to deputise.
