Woman Arrested For “Abducting Another Woman’s Husband”

A 55-year old woman, Mrs Oluchukwu Nkwazoma has been arrested and charged before Isolo Magistrate’s court for hiding another woman’s husband, one Alloy Benson Njoku in her house in Lagos.

She was charged with conspiracy and conduct likely to cause breach of public peace under the Criminal Code.

The husband in this case, Alloy who resides at Mushin Road in the same Isolo community as the accused informed his wife, Chizoba that he was traveling to Abuja on business, the obedient wife and mother of two wished her husband safe journey while he moved into Oluchukwu’s house.

Alloy was living with the mother of seven, before he unfortunately ran into his wife while on the road with Oluchukwu. According to reports, Alloy and Oluchukwu were from Imo State and had known each other in the past but then lost contact, before they met again and then rekindled their relationship. They both attend the same church and the angered Chizoba alleged that she didn’t know that their relationship had continued after Oluchukwu had separated from her own husband.

When Chizoba met her husband and Oluchukwu strolling on the street, she accused her husband of betrayal and asked him to follow her back to their house but Oluchukwu stepped in and instead asked Alloy to follow her back to her own house. The angered wife followed them and continued to protest that the other woman forced her husband out from the house.

This angered Oluchukwu who ordered her grown up children to beat up Chizoba in the presence of her husband who did nothing. The matter was reported to the police at Aswani division who initially arrested all the parties involved in the matter, but then discovered the cause of the fight.

Oluchukwu was charged to the court where she pleaded not guilty to the alleged offence. The presiding Magistrate, Mrs A.K Shonubi granted her bail in the sum of N20,000 with one surety in like sum. She was also remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail condition.

The matter was adjourned till 6 February 2017.
