West Brom beat Burnley 4-0 at the Hawthorns on Monday night, but one player who didn’t feature in the game was Saido Berahino.
The unsettled striker hasn’t played for the Baggies since September and is currently in France receiving help with fitness and psychological issues.
And after the match, boss Tony Pulis asked the media to give the player space.
The £20m-rated striker has gone back to France for help with his fitness and psychological issues.
The striker has been depressed as his career nose-dived after a £20m move to Tottenham was blocked by West Brom.
The 23-year-old was sent to France for conditioning work and to trim some excess weight off and only returned a few days ago.
But the club have sent him back and he issued a statement admitting that he needed help.
Pulis said: “Inwardly he’s looking at himself now, not everybody else and that’s the way he will get better.
“The most important thing now is to leave the kid alone.
“I’ve spoken to him today and he’s fine. He needs to get himself sorted out.
“We all have to let him get on with it and, fingers crossed, he will come back and get back to the sort of form we know he’s capable of.”
