Rennes will consider making a move for Real Madrid teenager Martin Odegaard in January.
The Ligue 1 outfit were in the hunt to sign the Norwegian during the summer transfer window but he ended up staying put in the Spanish capital.
Madrid don’t want to let the promising young Scandinavian talent go altogether, especially considering the fact that their appeal over the sanction imposed on them by FIFA – which could bar them from signing players for two transfer windows – is still pending.
Former Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre, who is an advisor to Rennes president Rene Ruello, says the French club have not forgotten about Odegaard and could try to sign him in January.
He told Ouest-France: “It is a matter that we have not forgotten. In January we will see what the player thinks and what Real Madrid thinks.”
