Brighton have confirmed the appointment of Paul Trollope as their assistant manager.

Trollope was most recently manager at Cardiff and a member of Chris Coleman’s Wales coaching staff.

He has previously worked with Seagulls boss Chris Hughton at Birmingham and Norwich.

Trollope, 44, served as Hughton’s assistant at both Brimingham and Norwich before joining Cardiff under Slade.

And he was given the chance to step-up at the end of last season, but managed only two wins before being shown the door with the club in the relegation zone.
He replaces Colin Calderwood, who left the Seagulls to join Championship rivals Aston Villa earlier this week.
“I’m delighted to be working with Paul again,” Hughton said.

“He’s an excellent coach, and since his time with me he’s gone on to gain great experience at international level with Wales and in club management with Cardiff.”
