Aleksandar Mitrovic has been linked with a January move to Napoli, reports the Newcastle Chronicle.
However, the North East publication understands Newcastle United have no intention of selling the Serbia international and any potential suitors are likely to be told Mitrovic is “not for sale”.
Mitrovic is also happy on Tyneside and has said on several occasions that living in the city is “just like being at home”.
Mitrovic is under contract until 2020 so Newcastle are in a strong position with the in-form player.
He said: “The fans here are very special and the people here want to talk to you in the city about the team and football. That’s their passion.
“We need to keep the bond good between the fans and the club this season.
“It is an amazing feeling at the moment to be a player.”
Mitrovic has bagged four goals in two matches after flooring Preston North End at St James’ Park then Deepdale.
