Liverpool are set to renew their interest in Porto midfielder Hector Herrera, according to reports in A Bola.
The Reds weighed up a move for the Mexico international, 26, last summer.
And now the Merseysiders are understood to be preparing to go head to head with Napoli for the player’s signature in January.
Herrera has a contract at the Dragao until the end of June 2019.
Herrera has a £35million release clause and Liverpool would face competition from Napoli.
Klopp is looking for cover for Sadio Mane who is due to take part in the Africa Cup of Nations at the end of January.
He also lost Danny Ings for the season with another ACL injury.
The 26-year-old has 46 Mexico caps and joined Porto in 2013 from Pachuca.
