The Lagos State Magistrate’s Court sitting on Thursday remanded popular Nollywood producer, Seun Egbegbe, in the Kirikiri prisons, pending when he perfects his bail conditions.
Egbegbe, an estranged lover of popular actress, Toyin Aimakhu, was arraigned before the court on a one court of stealing brought against him by the Lagos State Police Command, Leadership reports.
It was gathered that Egbegbe was beaten by a mob for trying to steal several expensive phones from Keelcech Innovation, a store in Computer Village.
However, the embattled filmmaker pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The trial Magistrate, Aje Afunwa granted the accused persons bail in the sum of N1 million with two sureties in like sum.
The court, however, held that he should be kept at the Kirikiri Prisons pending the perfection of the terms of his bail conditions.
There was a mild drama after court proceedings today as the supporters of the accused person threatened to beat up journalists if they dared take his pictures.
It took the intervention of the police and court orderlies who sent the rowdy mob out of the court premises.
