Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa state and its inhabitants, on Tuesday morning, basked in the warmth of intense security sentience, in anticipation of the Supreme Court judgment on Bayelsa governorship poll.
The News Agency of Nigerian (NAN) reports that all the roads leading to Onopa, the seat of government were blocked by armed security men.

This is just as the Government House and other strategic areas of the capital witnessed an increased security presence, with motorists and other commuters forced to seek alternative routes to their destinations.
The country’s Apex court is expected to rule on the legal tussle between Governor Seriake Dickson of the PDP, who was declared winner of the poll and Chief Timipre Sylva, the APC candidate who challenged the victory today, November 8, 2016.
The apparently ‘aggrieved’ candidate of the APC had approached the election petitions tribunal which upheld Dickson’s election.
However, he was not satisfied by the verdict of the tribunal, so he took his case to the Appeal Court which also affirmed the decision of the tribunal.
Regardless of the heavy presence of security men deployed to strategic locations, the capital remains calm.
