Everton boss Ronald Koeman wants to sign Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger in January, reports the Star on Sunday.
The Toffees boss will mull over a move for the World Cup winner when the transfer window opens, with a potential loan until the end of the season on the cards.
Should it materialise, a move to Goodison Park would offer Schweinsteiger a route of Old Trafford, where he was cast out of Jose Mourinho’s first-team squad.
The 32-year-old is yet to feature for the Portuguese following his summer appointment, although he has been brought back to train with the first-team in recent weeks.
Everton are looking to bolster their midfield department, and could make a loan move for the German international.
United are said to be willing to pay half of Schweinsteiger’s current wages, to move him on.
