AEK FC and Joleon Lescott have mutually agreed the termination of his contract, the Greek club announced today.
The former Aston Villa, Man City and Everton defender moved to Greece just three months ago.
Lescott has played four times since joining up with the Greek giants, but the last of those came at the beginning of October.
Athens released the following statement earlier today: “AEK FC announces the completion of its cooperation with Joleon Lescott and wishes him every success in the continuation of his career.”
Lescott had the chance to join Mark Warbutton’s Rangers in the summer transfer window, but instead opted to head across the continent.
It is likely the former Manchester City, Everton and West Brom man will head back to the UK in his search for new employers, although he has friends playing in MLS and has been linked with LA galaxy in the past.
