Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish believes goalkeeper Steve Mandanda is the “signing of the summer”.
Speaking to the Croydon Advertiser, Parish said: “He allows us to play the way we are playing – he is a football goalkeeper.
“Maybe he wasn’t ready before and he was an icon at Marseille, but we picked our moment and there was a lot of hard work that went into it.”
“We got good ones in first – the Dwight Gayle and Andros Townsend deals were good for both really.
“Mandanda was good and then James Tomkins was one that Alan Pardew definitely wanted to do.”
