Robert Lewandowski is on the verge of signing a new deal at Bayern Munich, according to sources in Poland and Germany.
The Poland forward, who has been linked with Real Madrid, has been a key player for Bayern since joining them on a free transfer from domestic rivals Borussia Dortmund in 2014.
According to information from the Polish press which has been reproduced in Bild, Bayern have offered the forward a five-year deal worth €75m (€15m a year).
Lewandowski’s current deal at the Allianz Arena expires in 2019.
Lewandowski has scored 77 goals in 113 games for the club since joining from Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer.
Lewandowski currently earns around £8.5million-a-year, but a new deal will substantially bump him up, to a salary of around £13million.
Now the club’s hierarchy are set a new deal for Lewandowski, until 2021, at the club’s AGM next month, when they are likely to also announce two other contract extensions.
