Kaduna-Born Kannywood actress Rahama Sadau was banned from the Hausa film industry two weeks ago after she appeared in a romantic music video with Jos musician, ClassiQ.
Her appearance in the music video was said to be ‘immoral’ by the Hausa film industry as she was seen hugging and cuddling with the artiste.
When news of the ban broke, it was met with outrage and condemnation from social media and word got to US-based Nigerian film maker, Jeta Amata who together with International star Akon invited the actress to the set of their new film in Hollywood, Los Angeles.
Now, a Kano-based Islamic scholar, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, has suggested that the Kannywood star turn down the Hollywood invitation.
In an open letter addressed to Rahama on Facebook in Hausa, Sheikh Daurawa described the problem the actress had with Kanywood as trial from God to test her faith. He added that Islam agrees with people being told to mend their ways when they make a mistake. The cleric went on to suggest that marriage would be better for the actress.
