According to Cleveland Cavaliers superstar, Lebron James, NBA teams acquire new players and change coaches because they want to beat him.
Despite being on two different teams, the 4-time MVP and 12-time All Star has made the NBA finals every year for the past six years being in the Eastern Conference so obviously teams must have knocking him and his team off that spot at the back of their minds.
In an interview with a Cleveland sports reporter, James said “I know teams switch and pick up new coaches or new players, and their whole goal is kind of they want to beat me”.
“It’s never just about me, but I always hear them saying we gotta beat LeBron. It’s not just me on the court, but I understand that teams get together in this conference and across the league to try to beat me.”
When the former No. 1 draft pick left the Cavaliers to join the Miami Heat in 2010, the team instantly became a title contender, while the Cavs fell way down to the bottom half of the conference. Four NBA finals and two championships later, he returned to the Cavaliers in 2014 and delivered the team their first NBA championship.
Maybe that’s what got the Warriors to go for Kevin Durant, who knows .
