Napoli are anxiously awaiting news on the knee injury sustained by summer signing Arkadiusz Milik during the first half of Poland’s 3-2 win against Denmark.

The 22-year-old, who has scored seven goals in nine games in all competitions for the Serie A side, was withdrawn at half-time and is now on his way back to Italy for an MRI scan.

It is feared he has torn his anterior cruciate ligament – an injury which could keep him sidelined for months.

Napoli issued a statement on their official website which read: “Arkadiusz Milik is expected to arrive in Italy on Sunday where he will be subjected to visits and diagnostic tests in Naples to show the extent of the injury.”
