Matteo Darmian is closing in on a return to Italy, according to reports in his homeland.
Matteo Darmian could leave Manchester United to join Inter Milan in January, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The report suggests Inter Milan are in the final stages of tying up a deal to sign the full-back on loan with a view to a permanent deal.
The 26-year-old, who is currently away on international duty with Italy, has fallen out of favour at United and has made just one appearance this season.
The transfer, which will formally take place in January 2017, is expected to be a paid loan, with Inter having the option to buy Darmain outright at the end of the current season.
