Martin Caceres could be set for a trial with Inter Milan, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Caceres is currently a free agent after his deal expired at Juventus.
The former Juventus defender is not the only player on Inter’s shortlist which also includes Aleix Vidal, Benfica’s Semedo and Juventus’ Stephan Lichtsteiner. Caceres, how either ver, is the only one who would join the San Siro outfit for free (and immediately).
Caceres had been linked with joining Inter for the whole summer transfer window, but – surprisingly – he could not close any deal with Inter, nor with any other suitor interested.
According to goal.com, Caceres, 29, has offered his services to Inter though the Serie A sides have put transfer talks on hold and will inform Caceres, whether they want to sign him or not.
One reason for Inter’s reluctance to sign him could be the player’s precarious physical condition or some off the field matters which have recently affected the former Barcelona defender.
