Liverpool will offer Philippe Coutinho a new contract in an attempt to fend off interest from Barcelona.
The Brazil international has been in scintillating form for the Reds this season, scoring four goals in eight appearances.
The 24-year-old is understood to be one of a number of Liverpool players in line for a new deal, along with Dejan Lovren and Adam Lallana.
Coutinho signed a new deal at Anfield only 18 months ago but Liverpool want to ensure he remains on Merseyside and isn’t lured to Catalonia like Luis Suarez was in 2014.
The Brazilian has taken up a key role in Jurgen Klopp‘s new-look 4-3-3 system, and still just 24, is poised to continue this long into the future.
Coutinho is believed to be earning around £70,000 a week on his current deal which, when compared to some of his team-mates, is wildly off the mark when considering his stature.
