Kevin Stewart has agreed a one-year extension to his contract at Liverpool.
The midfielder, who has made five appearances for the club this season. signed a four- year contract in February with the option of further year but it is believed the Reds are keen to tie him down until 2021.
The former Tottenham trainee, started last season on loan at Swindon but was recalled to Anfield by Jurgen Klopp, who is said to be impressed with the 23-year-old.
The manager praised his ‘heart, smart challenges and really good positioning’ after a 4-1 victory against Stoke in April.
His contract is one of several that Liverpool are negotiating as they look to the future with highly-rated local youngsgters Ben Woodburn and Trent Alexander-Arnold close to confirming their signings.
Winger Woodburn, 17, has already played for the Liverpool Under 23s and it will be his first professional contract. Midfielder Alexander-Arnold, 18, has represented England Under 19s.
