Cameron Borthwick-Jackson is reportedly set to return to Manchester United, with Jose Mourinho concerned over his lack of playing time with Wolves.
The Metro reports that the defender – who was sent on loan to Molineux – could be recalled to Old Trafford after only featuring in five games this season.
It is believed that he does have a future at Old Trafford, but manager Jose Mourinho wants him to gain sufficient first-team experience in the meantime.
Borthwick-Jackson can play at left-back or centre-back, and the Special One wants cover in those positions as Luke Shaw battles to regain full fitness – while he is still not convinced by Marcos Rojo.
When he joined Wolves, Borthwick-Jackson said: “My aim is to play as many games as I can, get as much experience as I can with the hope to go back there and challenge for a spot in the team.
“Mourinho has told me I’ve got a future there, he sees a future for me. So that’s what I’m looking to do, gain experience and start there.
“I’ve had interest from Premier League clubs and other Championship clubs but I wanted to come here and help the club get back to where they belong, which is the Premier League.”
