Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has announced he will host the players, coaching crew and management of Rivers United FC to a dinner.
The dinner would be to celebrate the team’s success in the just concluded Nigerian Premier League season where the Rivers United team finished in second place.
The Governor also announced that all players and management members of the club will receive N 500,000 each for their performance while the technical manager and coach Stanley Eguma will receive N 1,000,000.
In addition, a preseason trip to Madrid for players & officials was announced for the team as well as a brand new luxurious bus to be immediately released by the Commissioner of Transport for the team.
Rivers United FC was created in 2016 by means of a merger between Dolphins football club of Port Harcourt and their city rivals, Sharks FC, both clubs based in Rivers State.
