Rangers International of Enugu have emerged as the champions of the Nigeria Professional Football League for the 2015/16 season after defeating El-Kanemi Warriors 4-0.

Chisom Egbuchulam was the toast of the Flying Antelopes after his hat-trick silenced El-Kanemi Warriors and then handed Enugu Rangers their first Nigeria Professional Football League title in 32 years.

Imama Amapakabo’s men could have emerged champions after defeating Ikorodu United in Abeokuta, but they had to wait till the last game after Rivers United played a 0-0 draw versus Abia Warriors in Port Harcourt.

Meanwhile, Rivers United FC of Portharcourt ended as second following their win over Ikorodu United.

The NFF president Amaju Pinnick and LMC chairman Shehu Dikko were all in Enugu to present the trophy to the club alongside with the N40 million prize money.

The League Management Company had earlier announced that the champions will receive forty million naira as prize money.

In a statement, the LMC said that 19 league clubs will share a total of N200m as cash reward for final position aside expelled Giwa FC.
