Clinton NJie may still return to Tottenham Hotspur, but is happy to be getting playing time on his loan spell at Marseille.
The 23-year-old moved to Marseille on loan this summer as part of the deal that brought Georges-Kevin Nkoudou to White Hart Lane, ending a disappointing season in English football.
Having joined for £8.3million in the summer of 2015 N’Jie struggled with injuries, missing most of the second half of the season with a medial collateral ligament injury. In 14 appearances prior to the injury the forward had not managed to score a goal
“For the moment I am in Marseille and happy to be here, and at the end of this season we will decide what is best for me,” NJie said.
“All I needed was time to play and I passed a year in Tottenham, not an easy one. So when the criticism started we had a discussion. We were just looking for the best for me.”
