Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho is in front of Chelsea’s Willian for five-time world champions Brazil insists coach Tite.Willian was selected for Tite’s first two games, but it has been Coutinho who has made an impact from the bench.
Both have made strong starts to the season for their respective clubs, with Coutinho scoring a stunning free-kick in the win over Arsenal and Willian brilliantly broke the deadlock last week as Chelsea saw off Hull.
‘There’s a reason he is called the Magician [by Liverpool fans],’ said the Brazil boss.
‘With his passes, Coutinho opens the lines, creates space. I like his mobility, he was influential in both games when he came on.
‘It was a difficult decision for me, but right now this is Coutinho’s moment. And in football, you have to follow the moment.’
