Athletic Bilbao’s Inaki Williams has reassured the club’s fans that his loyalties lie with the La Liga side, with Liverpool reportedly interested once again in acquiring his services.
Williams had a release clause of €20m in his contract, but the Spanish forward signed a new contract at Bilbao with a release clause of €50m at the start of the year.
The Merseyside club have again recently been linked to the 22-year-old, who has also been speaking to Spanish newspaper AS.
Williams insists he is content at Athletic Club Bilbao, and wants to stay for ‘many years’.
He said: “I am happy at Athletic, it is where I want to be. I am very grateful to the fans, the club and my colleagues. I want to stay for many years.”
“I want to be the one who makes the crowd at the San Mames go wild by scoring loads of goals.”
Williams has managed just one goal in his last 11 appearances for Bilbao, but found the net 13 times last term.
He has been capped once by Spain after coming on as a substitute in a 3-1 friendly defeat to Bosnia and Herzegovina in May.
