The authorities of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) on Tuesday reacted with a denial to reports making the round that relocated corps members are to collect their discharge certificate from their original state of deployment.

The Scheme, on its official Twitter account @Nysc_ ng, called on corps members and stakeholders to disregard the information as it is false.

It said: “Corps members and other stakeholders are advised to disregard this; it was not posted by the NYSC, please.

“In line with established procedures, Corps members are to collect their Certificates in states where they completed the service. Thank you.”

The disavowal is coming less than a week after a group; the Citizens Advocacy Initiative For Accountable Leadership (CAIFAL), dragged the NYSC to a Federal High Court in Lagos over allegation of fraud in its ‘mobilisation fee.’

Last week Wednesday, NAN reported that CAIFAL filed a suit against the NYSC, challenging the collection of mobilisation fee.

The group described the previous and continued ‘collection of monies’ from prospective corps members as illegal, wrongful and most improper.

The court, in its ruling, fixed October 21, for hearing.
