Manchester United’s new Swedish target Jesper Karlsson has admitted it is fun to be linked with the club as his reputation as the new Zlatan Ibrahimovic grows, reports The Sun.
“It is of course fun. But I cannot do anything more than to just do my best and go out and perform. The check happened and they think I’m good, it’s just a plus,” he said.
“I do not want to speculate on that now as follows right after, but we’ll see how it goes in the future.”
Hakan Nilsson, the club’s director of football, remained coy on the subject of United’s apparent interest but said it was a ‘possibility’ they were keen on him.
He added: “It’s a possibility they [United] have expressed an interest. Just like a number of other major clubs.”
Although other clubs are said to be keen on the Sweden youth international, the chance to learn from fellow Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic could give United an advantage.
Karlsson has made 27 appearances this season and has scored eight goals, making him one of the hottest young prospects in Europe.
