Suicide Squad continues to silence critics with its Box Office pull, opening to a record breaking $260m and now grossing over $600m worldwide.
Even though the movie was greeted with pretty bad reviews, the David Ayer-directed movie brought in $260m globally in its opening weekend.
To put this into perspective, Batman v Superman made $256m worldwide on its opening weekend. The super villain movie has now entered the Top 100 Highest Grossing Movies Of All Time. It debuts at number 92 with over $672m internationally.
Suicide Squad rises despite bad reviews
On August 25, director David Ayer thanked fans for helping the movie hit $600m. This means the movie has made an extra $60m in the 11 days since. That’s not too bad for a movie that got a score of 26% on Rotten Tomatoes.
In the DC extended universe, Suicide Squad has surpassed Man Of Steel’s $668m globally on the list. It’s still a while away from 47th placed Batman vs Superman which has grossed $827m worldwide. It’s worth noting that the Suicide Squad movie had a production budget of $175m. Its surely a good day at Warner Bros pictures.
