Free agent Stephane Sessegnon has completed a move to French club Montpellier after parting ways with West Brom earlier this year.

Sessegnon, 32, had been linked to a move to Burnley, but instead returns to Ligue 1 for the first time since he left Paris Saint-Germain in 2011.

The Benin international played with PSG for three seasons before joining Sunderland, and after two years moved on to West Brom until his contract expired this past summer.

Sessegnon will be reunited with Montpellier coach Frederic Hantz, who was in charge of Le Mans in 2006 when Sessegnon joined them as his first club in the top flight.
