The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended the General Overseer of Tongue of Fire Restoration Ministry, Chukwuma Nkwocha, for allegedly camping and defiling about 30 underaged girls.
The suspect, 38, whose church is located at Sogunle area of Lagos state, was accused of camping and defiling the young girls, whose ages range from 10 to 15 years.
Nkwocha was further accused of taking advantage of their ‘homeless predicament’ to lure them to his place and then sexually abuse them.
The accused person was apprehended on Tuesday evening by the police team, operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, during a church service at the church premises located in Sogunle area of Lagos State.
He was taken away from the church premises along with the girls.
While confirming his arrest, the spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Dolapo Badmos, said the State’s Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, has ordered thorough investigation of the case.
She said: “The Command rescued about 30 young girls from the pastor’s custody and two of them acknowledged he had canal knowledge of them. Investigation is ongoing.”
