Mino Raiola has revealed he didn’t want Mario Balotelli to return to Italy this summer as he feared there would be too many distractions for his client there.
The former Liverpool striker was linked with moves to Chievo Verona, Napoli and Palermo following his release from Anfield, but opted to join French side Nice on a two-year deal.
And it’s a decision his agent Raiola has revealed was a calculated one.
“I didn’t want him to play again in Italy,” Raiola told Radio CRC. “It would have been an alibi for him.
“I didn’t want to give him any more excuses that would allow him to continue not doing good things. Mario is bounded to Napoli. He has a daughter there.”
