Manchester United will put Phil Jones up for sale in February, with a view to a sale next summer, according to The Sun.
United boss Jose Mourinho will then reinvest the money from Jones’ sale back into his defence at Old Trafford.
The Sun claim both Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in the 24-year-old England international, who hasn’t featured for United since January 2.
‘Arsenal have asked about him in the past along with Chris Smalling, and they are keeping an eye on his situation.
‘He cannot stay fit and that is why United tried to sign Jose Fonte from Southampton in the summer.’
