Sheffield Wednesday are set to sign former Netherlands international Urby Emanuelson, the Sheffield Star reports.
The Owls have greed personal terms with the left-back, who is a free agent after leaving Hellas Verona in the summer and is due to have a medical later today.
The defender has previously spent time in the English leagues with a loan spell at Fulham and has also played for Ajax, AC Milan and Roma.
Owls boss Carlos Carvalhal is keen to add to his options at left-back after failing to land No1 target Joe Bennett, who joined Cardiff.
Carvahal’s side earned just five points from their opening five games and sit just above the relegation places.
And the Owls boss is desperate for experienced recruits to reverse their fortunes.
