Chelsea boss Antonio Conte wants to bring Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian to Old Stamford Bridge, according to reports in Italy.
The 26-year-old Italy international, capped 26 times, appears to have fallen out of favour at Old Trafford following Jose Mourinho’s appointment, with Antonio Valencia the Portuguese’s preferred right-back.
Darmian, under contract until June 2019, was one of a host of players linked with a move out of Old Trafford this summer and a host of clubs remain keen on signing him.
Calciomercato.it claim a reunion with former Italy boss Conte at Chelsea could be on the cards, while a return to his native Italy with Juventus or Napoli could also occur.
The 26-year-old moved to Old Trafford last summer and featured 28 times in the Premier League last season under Louis van Gaal.
