Arjen Robben’s father, who acts as his agent, has said the Bayern Munich winger would like to stay at the Bundesliga club.
When asked by German publication Kicker if Robben would sign for just an extra year, Hans Robben said: “I don’t know. We’ll get down to talks and then we will see what the situation is.”
Referring to Bayern’s role in contract negotiations, he added: “Normally it shouldn’t be a problem, but it takes two to tango.”
Louis van Gaal brought Robben, 32, to Bayern from Real Madrid in 2009, with the Netherlands international going on to win five Bundesliga titles and the Champions League since then.
Robben has suffered his fair share of injuries and has failed to complete more than 60 percent of Bundesliga matches in his seven seasons with the German champions. His best season in terms of steering clear of injury came in 2009-10, when he managed 1,778 out of a possible 3,060 minutes of playing time.
Robben is under contract at the Allianz Arena until the end of the season..
