Chelsea are set to launch a £25m bid for Burnley’s Michael Keane in a bid to solve their defensive crisis, according to the Daily Mirror.
Antonio Conte has reportedly identified Keane as the man to shore up his problematic defence and the Blues are thought to have made a preliminary enquiry for the 23-year-old.
Keane, who scored in Burnley’s 2-0 win against Watford on Monday night, was wanted by Premier League champions Leicester in the summer.
Keane started his career at Manchester United and left them last year for £2m on a three-and-a-half-year deal with Burnley.
It is likely that they will try to offer him an improved contract in light of this news.
Chelsea signed David Luiz back from Paris Saint-Germain for £30m on transfer deadline day but are still leaking goals, having lost 3-0 to Arsenal at the weekend.
