Alvaro Morata Reveals Chelsea Were Ready To Make Him The Most Expensive Spanish Player Ever

Alvaro Morata has revealed that Chelsea were interested in him before he decided to re-join Real Madrid from Juventus.

“Chelsea showed the most interest,” the striker told German publication Sport Bild. “Antonio Conte had already signed me for Juventus and it was a very good offer this time. I would have been the most expensive Spanish player ever.”

‘(But) Real said that they have me in their plans. and that was always a dream of mine.’

It was expected that Real would sell Morata on for a bigger fee after two impressive seasons in Italy.

However, Morata committed himself to Real after learning from Zinedine Zidane that he had a big role to play at the club.

The magazine also report the Blues were ready to play £60m for his services.

The Spanish forward was heavily linked with a move to London, with both Chelsea and Arsenal interested.​
