Sunderland manager David Moyes travelled to Griffin Park yesterday to watch Brentford take on Nottingham Forest.
According to Starsport David Moyes made the trip to watch Forest’s prolific striker Britt Assombalonga, who started from the bench.
The birth of Assombalonga’s child hours before the game meant he missed out on a starting spot.
But he did come on for the final 20 minutes where he missed a late chance to equalise.
Assombalonga was Forest’s club record £5.5m signing from Peterborough two years ago. He is now valued at around £7m.
Forest are desperate not to sell and know losing Assombalonga will be a hammer blow to any plans they have of reaching the play-offs.
But Moyes has cash to splash at Sunderland and is expected to make a number of new signings before the transfer window slams shut.
