Saido Berahino To Quit West Brom For Nothing At The End Of The Season

share on:

Saido Berahino has officially informed West Brom he intends to see out the final year of his contract at The Hawthorns, report the Daily Mail.

Berahino is a target for Crystal Palace and Stoke, with both understood to have tabled offers in the region of £20m, but the Baggies are yet to sanction a transfer for the striker.

One of the most protracted transfer sagas in recent years looks set to drag after it emerged England U21 international Berahino had opted against pushing through a transfer this summer.

The Mail adds that the striker’s decision means he will be free to leave the Baggies next summer for a potentially lucrative free transfer.

The  development opens up the possibility of West Brom losing Berahino for nothing during the summer of 2017.

Berahino can sign a potentially lucrative pre-contract agreement with an overseas club from January; and it is understood clubs from Spain and Germany have already expressed an interest.

And it is an opportunity Berahino is now prepared to explore.
