The lawsuit was filed by a man in the US who said over 5 people had knocked on his door because they were looking for Pokemon, with many more loitering outside his home.

The man filed the suit on behalf of himself and other people who have had Pokemon gyms and shops put on their property, and filed it against Nitendo, Niantic and The Pokemon Company.

The defendants are accused of showing “a flagrant disregard for the foreseeable consequences of populating the real world with virtual Pokemon without seeking the permission of property owners.”

The game has been banned at a number of historical sites and places of interest, including the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park in Japan, the Auschwitz former concentration camp and the Holocaust Memorial Museum in the US.
