This won’t be Mikel’s first foray into social media. Previously on Twitter as Mikel12Official, Mikel had deleted the account after heavy racial abuse in 2014 following an error in a match against Juventus.
Chelsea had released a statement over the incident then saying: “We’ve been made aware of racist tweets targeted at Mikel which are totally unacceptable, disgusting and abhorrent.” They also contacted police over the incident.
Welcome back, Mikel!
