James McCarthy Eager To Quit Everton

Ireland international James McCarthy has told Everton he wants to quit the club, reports the Daily Mail.

The midfielder joined from Wigan three years ago in a £13million switch and has started Everton’s opening two Premier League games, although not in his favoured central midfield role.

McCarthy is reported to have informed the Merseyside giants yesterday of his desire to move on and is not even among the substitutes for this afternoon’s Goodison clash with Stoke City.

Everton will look to bring in £20m for McCarthy, a figure unlikely to deter rumoured potential suitors Crystal Palace, Newcastle, Celtic, Sunderland, Bournemouth and Watford.
