Ghanaian Pastor Publicly Whips Teenage Members Over Fornication, Attempted Abortion

Prominent Ghanaian pastor, Bishop Daniel Obinim, has stirred the hornet’s nest after he was captured in a video whipping two teenage members of his church accused of fornication and attempted abortion.

The controversial cleric, who is the founder of the International God’s Way Church, whipped the young boy and girl with a waist leather belt to the delight of the members of his church in Kumasi, Ghana, while the service was broadcast live on TV, after they had openly confessed their sins to him.

A Twitter user who seems to be on the know @obimpenaaustine revealed that the Pastor and his wife pay the fees of the young man and lady in the video.

According to Austine, the duo were pelted with the rod after the Bishop alleged that God revealed to him that they were attempting to have an abortion.

Social media netizens have reacted to the conduct as many questioned the part of his own ‘Bible’ that justifies his action.

Prominent radio personality, Nii Ayi Tagoe wondered whether the action of the pastor was what “people call this Christianity…I’m appalled.

I know some fools will come and defend this”. He said he was not happy with the Christian Council which has in recent times been swift in lambasting the government “but can’t bring this man to order”

“This is the reason I will never sit in a church building to worship……hypocrites!,” he concluded in the Facebook post.

Also reacting, a journalist, Halifax Ansah-Addo also wrote on Facebook: ” Religion defies logic. A pastor in Ghana flogs his church members…” “Elders of the land…..what exactly are you doing about this…..this is very, very sad,” Amoateng Dennis, also posted on Facebook.
