Chris Brown is looking at spending three-years in prison if found guilty of possessing a gun after he was accused by a woman of threatening her with one.
The woman, identified as Miss California Regional 2016, Baylee Curran, said she had been admiring the neck piece of a friend of Brown’s when he got mad and pulled a gun at her.
Curran was then escorted off his residence where she placed a call to 911 to report the singer. Brown on the other hand claimed she was among uninvited guests who had come into his home.
The Sex You Back To Sleep didn’t make things easy for himself as he kept the L.A police who showed up at his Corbin avenue home in Tarzana, CA, outside for up to 14 hours till they obtained a search warrant before he agreed to come out of his home.
And even that he did, only when his lawyer, Mark Geragos interceded.
Spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department, Lt. Chris Ramirez, said Brown was escorted from his Tarzana home, Tuesday, August 30, to downtown L.A., where he was formally booked with for suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
After his exit from the home, Robbery-Homicide Division officials began searching Brown’s property for the evidence of the gun with his lawyer, Geragos being present.
According to TMZ, police have retrieved at least one gun, other weapons and drugs from Chris Brown’s home, after Chris threw a duffel bag out the window of his home.
Curran said she had visited Brown’s home with two friends, one of whom was a business associate of Chris Brown and had been invited by him. Curren claimed she came along to discuss some future projects with him.
Upon entering his home, she had to drop her phone as that was part of the condition before getting into his house.
A hand full of people were sitting about chatting so she stepped out for a bit of air and the confrontation ensued after she stepped back in.
Curran stated she had seen a friend of Chris’ showcasing jewelry such as diamond bracelets, necklaces and watches inside the home and began to admire a diamond cross necklace when the friend lashed out at her before Chris got riled up.
Curran told LA Times, “I don’t know if it was Chris’ friend or how he was related, but that’s when he told me to back away from the diamond necklace and started cussing me out and calling me names. That’s when Chris pulled his gun and told me to ‘Get out.’ He said ‘I’m sick of you girls, get the F out!’”
The model said she ran out of his home with her friend but had to wait at the front gate upon remembering she had left her phone behind.
A companion of Brown came to hand her the phone but insisted she would first sign a non-disclosure and she refused.
Miss Curan claimed she snatched the phone from him and both her and her friend ran out towards one of Chris’s neighbor’s property with the companion dashing towards a jeep to give chase.
She added that it was Brown’s neighbor who called the police.
If found guilty, Brown would be facing a three-year prison sentence for possessing a fire-arm.
